Three AM
 
I love this piece! after completing it, I could not help but stare at it for a very long time. It's wonderful how a painting has the power to soothe the soul. I painted this piece at 3AM. It is a lovely painterly piece depicting all the knickknacks on my living room end table. Among the items is my old fashioned black clock (which no longer tells accurate time), a wooden elephant, a ceramic candle, an orange coaster, potted plant and statue of the Taj Mahal. It was dark when I painted this on my pochade box. The only light available was the warm glow from this very lamp that bounced off the items with its soothing magic. I used gray, black and a few other muted colors
